the Rock: Fooling April (9:00 pm)
an encore performance of our friends from Philly

This melodic piano-driven quartet from Philly has had a quite a year. Their single, "Firefly", from the band's debut album found a home at 1 on the Clear Channel unsigned charts for almost 4 months and was featured on over 450 Clear Channel station websites and yielded many live spins as well. All of this coming shortly after being selected the flagship band for a new online venture, American Idol Underground. This opportunity would lead to appearances on FOX and NBC television as well as a full feature in American Idol the Magazine.

Celebrities such as Teddy Geiger (Columbia recording artist) and Alex Chando (CBS' As The World Turns) fed the buzz by sporting Fooling April apparel to major media events such as the 2006 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and People Magazine's "100 Most Beautiful". The band has shared the stage with legends in the making: Dave Matthews, John Mayer, Franz Ferdinand, Dido, among many others. On the eve of the band's second release (due in April 2007), Fooling April is poised to establish themselves as a serious new player on the musical landscape. Fooling April on Myspacee...

the Rock: 3rd Culture (10 pm)
soulful britpop from Americans...

3RD CULTURE blends the melodic ambitions and lush textures of Britpop with the soul of American Rock n' Roll. The result is a dynamic, youthful, and refreshing pop/rock sound. 3RD CULTURE is a global collision spanning 3 continents, each member bringing a decade's worth of experience performing and recording tracks featured internationally on radio and television. "Sunrise for the Dislocated," the band's debut EP, brings to mind the classics of The Cars and the emotionally poignant sounds of contemporaries like Keane and Remy Zero. 3RD CULTURE radiates the signals of a bright future, in the legacy of U2 and Tom Petty.

the Rock: Spiraling (11 pm)
lush keyboard driven artistry...

As its name implies, Spiraling has never been a band that's comfortable sitting still. The band's restless passion and energy infused every track on its adventurous debut, Transmitter, and came across with even more fire and purpose on its spirited follow up, Challenging Stage. On the strength of these recordings, as well as an ambitious touring schedule that has brought it from New York to L.A. to Tokyo, Spiraling has developed a devoted worldwide following. Known for its captivating live show, Spiraling continues to hook both critics and fans with a distinctive brand of synth-driven rock that fuses infectious pop hookery with punk-rock fire, new-wave finesse, and prog-rock precision.

At the center of things is frontman Tom Brislin, a keyboard prodigy whose instrumental acrobatics had previously won him a spot touring with legendary supergroup Yes. On stage, he attacks his keyboards with a fervor reminiscent of the way Pete Townshend used to attack guitars (he stops short of smashing them, though). And like Townshend, he's developed a reputation as a sophisticated and thoughtful composer who is able to make the most of an explosive rhythm section; the passionate musicianship of guitarist Marty O'Kane, bassist Bob Hart, and drummer Paul Wells lends an electric sonic intensity to Brislin's heartfelt lyrics and melodies. But the comparisons and verbalizations have to stop there, because Spiraling's is a sound that defies comparison and easy categorization. Just listen... the web home of Spiraling

the Rock: Starbolt 9 (12 mid)
the artists formerly known as Mesmer

Starbolt 9 combine the flash and swagger of British Glam with the pop sensibilities of 80's New Romanticism to forge a unique sound that conjures such seminal artists as Bowie, Suede and the Verve. All the while, Starbolt 9have not forgotten the key ingredients for success in the industry, the melodies are drenched in emotion, while also remaining pleasantly accessible, the stage performance includes overt showmanship, but the "show" is not contrived. They perform with a distinct edge and swagger, crying out to their audience with a sense of urgency and otherworldy rebellion that has raised more than a few eyebrows around the NYC area.
