The Rock: The December Sound (9:00 pm)
The December Sound have managed not only to keep an eye on the influences of the past, but also gaze deeply into an opiate hazed vision of the future. This Boston-
based band, conceived by Zack Sarzana, started down their road on a four-track recorder with a clear voice and vision that was never hindered by the beautiful tape
hiss that their first fans grew to love. Three self-released EPs later, dozens of shows, broken bones and guitars later, The December Sound has stuck to their original vision of perpetual change while never leaving the constants of what makes music meaningful; Following the melodic sounds in ones head.
Led by Zack Sarzana's gliding guitars and vocal stylings that range from soft and hazy to outright threatening, The December Sound creates a feeling of hollowed
reverberations, echoing through the air. Jimmy Rossi joins in creating this vicious soundscape with dreamy keyboards and a melodic rhythm guitar that often calls back to Zack’s leads. Keeping the back-beat going is the hypnotic rhythm section which includes the spiral-like drumming of Drew Richards, along with newest member Cat Crowley delicately playing a bass that hums through chaos and quiet alike.
The December Sound is currently finishing a full length album filled with all the drones and tones of a great dreamadelica album. Also planned for next year is another EP including new Re-Mixes by Sonic Boom, and many more live dates along the Eastern seaboard.

The Rock: A Place to Bury Strangers (9:45 pm)
A Place To Bury Strangers have often been called "the loudest band in New York". This may very well be the case, but unlike much so-called "loud" rock and roll that's out there, APTBS is not loud simply for the sake of it. The sonically overdriven sound they've accomplished is no clumsy accident, but a carefully cultivated and well-maintained entity all its own, fostered by an unbridled passion that's clearly evident in every live show they play and each recording they make. A Place To Bury Strangers does not so much play songs as allow them to pour out. They are songs about longing, heartbreak and confusion played extremely well and at a passionately loud volume.

The Rock: Funeral Crashers (10:30 pm)
The Funeral Crashers are both a repudiation of the current state of rock and roll and a deconstruction of the modern world using a gleefully gothic aesthetic. Described by reviewers as a “storm of postpunk-isms” and “[giving] the undead something to dance to,” the band draws inspiration from elements of punk, postpunk, goth rock, shoegaze, glam, horror lit, Grand Guignol, art films and retro sci-fi. The result is a heady combination of textured noise and intensity that veers melodramatically from minimalist aggression to mood-drenched romanticism. The band name, incidentally, predates 2005 and for those insisting on a cinematic reference, it was Harold and Maude; like a restless corpse the Funeral Crashers were frequently assumed dead when earlier lineups collapsed. After self-producing an EP in Spring 2005, the Funeral Crashers have gigged regularly in New York City and elsewhere, and are currently at work on a full-length album.

The Rock: The Other Passengers (11:15 pm)
Other Passengers first emerged on the underground NYC music scene in March 2004 and quickly grabbed attention with their moody and dramatic sound: at times loud and jarring and in an instant moving to the realm of eerie and ethereal space creating a collage of post-punk psychedelia that reflects the dichotomy of the city: isolation among millions.
In October 2004, they released their debut EP, Is It Nothing to You, All Those Who Pass By?. Spannning 22 minutes, the five members draw influence from a wide range of envelope pushing artists past and present like Can,Bauhaus, Sonic Youth, early Pink Floyd, Eno, RZA, Spacemen 3.
Their music is intensified in a live setting. Writhing, twisting movements epitomize the band on stage. They link together cohesive chaotic moments and transcendent catharsis on stage.
