The Rock: Moi? (9 pm)
What is Moi? -- Is it a soap opera? A real life Behind the Music? A Vegas act? A kick-ass rock band? Well…yes. Moi? mixes comedy, drama, tragedy, and action with supersexy, great-sounding music. Influences range from the music of Bowie, Prince, and Judas Priest to the films of Martin Scorsese, the Marx Brothers, and Roger Corman.
"The theatrical and comedic Moi? swings a mighty shtick. Their over-the top rock numbers come off like collaboration between every 80's hair-metal band and Shudder to Think. And as funny as most of these songs are, they are also seriously catchy and highly danceable." -the Village Voice
“The best show I’ve seen in years !” - Steve Bays, Hot Hot Heat
“Overheated soul pleaders, mocking crotch-rock, shimmering pop pulchritude, taut disco come-ons -- (Moi?) does them all with a wink and a smile.” - The Isthmus

The Rock: Cut the Wires (9:45 pm)
You already love Cut The Wires. Even if you don't love their NYC surroundings, you love them. You love their muscular rhythm section joining jagged surgical-strike guitar to form a dense yet agile sound, the sonic equivalent of sumo wrestlers pulling off Swan Lake. They're a little bit trashy and a lot bit pop, and you dig that. You love the little wiggles you see out of your fellow clubgoers when they hear it, and you can't help but join them. You love this band. For fans of At the Drive-In, Q and Not U, PIL and Moving Units.See you Friday.

The Rock: the Subjects (10:30 pm)
In the spring of 2003 David Sheinkopf and Joseph Smith were teachers at a high school in Manhattan. They wrote a series of songs about different classes in school and performed them at the school carnival. At the carnival they shared the stage with two students, Matthew Iwanusa and Jimmy Carbonetti, who had written songs of their own. It did not take long for the four musicians to realize that they had a lot in common, and the following fall they began to write songs together, taking their name from the school subjects that had brought them together. In the spring of 2004 their first two-song EP "Break Out," though it was hand-copied and distributed in paper sleeves, brought them attention from the likes of Spin magazine and New York audiences.
In the summer following the younger members' high school graduation, The Subjects put together a short tour that began in Michigan and wound a dusty path back to their New York homes. They found new audiences in the beautiful Midwest and New England. Along the way, they found themselves playing a Michigan heavy metal festival and met a lot of each other's relatives.
The Subjects returned and began to hit the city clubs with renewed spirit. Now back in New York, the band has released a new EP and are currently recording new songs for a second release. The Subjects' sound and energy has been compared to The Kinks, The Faces, and The Walkmen. Their catalog ranges from songs that are pretty and sad to songs to which people like to dance.

the Rock: Fire Flies (11:15 pm)
If at any point in your relationship with us it becomes necessary to say "hi!" to one or more of us you might want to know our names. The way we remember who's who, is by seeing what instrument the band member is playing. You see, being in a band with 5 members can get quite confusing but it helps to remember that Dan plays acoustic guitar and sings, Wil plays electric guitar, Matt plays bass, Adam plays the drums and Andrew plays synthesizers. So if you approach a member holding a bass guitar you can be more than confident in your decision to yell out "Hey Matt!" though as Matt is clinically an idiot savant and incapable of speech that may not the best example.
