The Rock: Strangeway (from Pittsburgh) (9 pm)

Strangeway was founded in the spring of 2002 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Guitarist and lead vocalist Walter Tolentino sought to form a band of musicians that share a common dream. Quickly finding bassist Mike Mizia and drummer Ray Jones, they set out with hopes to breathe life into an over saturated music scene.Strangeway drew upon their influences and personal experiences to put together a rock show that thrives on their music and energy alone. The end result is a performance and sound that is powerful, edgy, and catchy; but still comes across as honest and pure. Strangeway’s live shows have captured their audience’s attention and created a hype that keeps people talking. The band is currently on tour to support the release of their debut CD - Turn It On.
The Rock: Hoy (9:45 pm)
The band's high energy stage show evokes The Kinks, The Jam, and Ted Leo: full of fresh, hook-driven and addicting rock songs, all out now on the newly released CD, Forever Endeavour. Heck, it even features a tasty guitar cameo by Brian Baker (Bad Religion, Minor Threat). Time Out NY says 'HOY outclasses any number of pastry-cutting pop-punk bands by not even trying to compete.' It's 'a power-pop explosion fueled by hooks you'll swear must grow on trees outside the singer's Brooklyn window' says the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The Rock: Fiona Sand (10:30 pm)
Fiona sand is a 22 year old norwegian girl that moved to new york after a really bad break up with her boyfriend and X drummer in Norway. With a litle money,3 music videos and 30 recorded song and a guitar she moved to the big apple to start a band. For a living she write sex and the city colums ,but she is an educated fashion designer and loves to combine music and fashion. The music is loud, energetic, catchy guitar pop with dark, sometimes sad lyrics.(almost every one about her hated EX-boyfriend who also where her drummer) videos music pictures
the Rock: Violator (all-girl Depeche Mode cover band!) (11:15 pm)
“Violator is an all-girl Depeche Mode cover band; take that, Dave Gahan.”– Time Out New YorkViolator is a New York based, five piece, all girl Depeche Mode cover band with a guitar influenced sound. Formed in the winter of 2004, the girls quickly gained notoriety and played up and down the East Coast. In September, they were flown to Chicago to play at Estrojam and this past December, Violator was the only band invited to play at a 5,000 capacity venue in Milan, Italy at the DepecheModeParty. The girls are going stronger and better than ever… don't you want to be violated?

The Rock: Arbor Day (9:45 pm)
Arbor Day writes urban, three-minute symphonies to god. The group's melodies front and center, always soar the same heights as Pet Sounds-era Beach Boys, but they're ground in the dirty truths and musical heritage of its New York City home. Combining unabashedly melodic vocals and classic Burt Bacharach horns with chugging, discordant guitars, white noise, and a Theremin, Arbor Day plays pure pop music at its grandest and most transcendent, concise and powerful, lost in time and place but never meaning. If Arbor Day was British, its members would have met in art school. Instead, Dileepan Ganesan (vocals), Vincent Dee (guitars), Joe Hasan (bass), Dan Rosato (drums), and Andy Levine (horns, Theremin, tambourine, etc.), met in 1999 at New York University, the next best thing. The group music obsessives in the best sense of the word formed around a common love of 20th century American music, their record collections covering everything from the avant-garde and be-bop movements of the 40s and 50s to California pop, New York punk and new wave, 80s no wave and post-punk, and 90s indie rock.

The Rock: Death of Fashion (10:30 pm)
"Death of Fashion, appropriate tag for this crew of Indiana transplants who’ve crafted an edgy hypnotic New York street vibration. Four dreamers who fell in love with the sound of the NYC underground... past, present and future rock trance. They started a band at Indiana Wesleyan College during 2002 and became addicted to the electric candy buzz playing intimate gigs in Hoosier dive bars. All four dropped out, made a blood oath to survive in the big apple, finished crafting a new sound from their various inspirations (think Joy Division, The Velvet Underground, The Strokes, and Brian Eno mixed in a blender with a touch of Mary chain feedback and a tube of crazy glue) and finally rented a U Haul for the courtesy http://underbelly.c.topica.com/maadf5babe52GaaaaaacafpLGO/ journey via Route 80 East. Amazing timing. Their U Haul hit the New York City streets on August 17, 2003, the day the lights went out in the infamous blackout. Welcome to New York City fellas. Trapped on the streets with all their belongings in tow, they seized the day by playing an impromptu concert for the people trapped with them on 5th Avenue. What a gig, and they didn’t even have to hand out one demo. Talk about an initiation, Death of Fashion became native New Yorkers at that beautiful moment in time. Let's talk about fate. Because without it, rock and roll is just a hobby. Death of Fashion's initial demo put them in all the cool spots on the lower East side. And from the start, people became entranced by this new sound full of the past but devoted to originality. Lead guitar player Jacob Bills uses no effects but still coaxes rainbow tangles of fuzz and reverb from his amp while lead singer Jesse Davis presents incisive lyrics with a confrontational manner that takes from both Lou Reed and even '85 era Stone Roses in its direct assault upon anybody daring to suffer from ADD in close proximity. Daryl Specht (bass) and Daniel Boivin (drums) surround their brothers with a surgically steady driving rhythm section reminiscent of early New Order and Joy Division. There is a trance element lurking here, the secret ingredient putting a ferocious new spin on many old flavors. This music is a genuine hypnotease. After shooting with brilliant fashion photographer Robert Caldarone, the band was introduced to renowned New York rock promoter/manager KerriBlack. She spotted within Death of Fashion that intangible asset necessary for world domination. And she would know, having been the first to see it in The Strokes who she chaperoned through the early years as their first manager, a fundamental asset to them and other mega cool groups like StellaStar, Longwave and Wheatus, bands she regularly booked in NYC. KerriBlack signed Death of Fashion to a management deal and began featuring them at packed shows with the most exciting NYC acts, Aerial Love Feed, Orange Park, and Aerovox to name a few. This strategy paid off righteously on Nov. 6th 2004 when Canarsie Records, Brooklyn's ultra hip new vinyl label, witnessed Death of Fashion play a killer set opening for Canarsie's phenomenal NYC recording artists Schizo Fun Addict and The Soft Explosions to a completely sold out crowd at Pianos NYC, a gig which has reached neo-legendary status among those who were there. Canarsie Records signed Death of Fashion three days after the show and will be releasing the debut 7"/CD-ep, (produced by Jason Marcus, Mugshot Records) in Feb. 2005. Mission accomplished. You've got to have a plan in life. Kill fashion...create yourself. Follow the dream to the blackout. "Carpe Diem"... indeed."THE NEW YORK CITY STREET REPORTNov. 2004 issue

the Rock: the Cringe (11:15 pm)
These boys are planning on giving away an IPOD SHUFFLE.... (Hey, why not?) at their show, so get up close...John lives in New York and grew up listening to Hüsker Dü, The Ramones, Television, Sex Pistols, The Beatles, Coltrane, Bird, and too many others to list here.Around a year ago, John met Rob while they were working at the same job in NYC. John had a handful of songs and Rob played lead guitar. John ran an ad in the Village Voice for a bass player and met Matt. Matt, Rob and John jammed and it sounded good. Matt, Rob and John met Shawn, who also happened to be the best drummer in NYC. More songs were written, lots of gigs were played and an album was recorded (at Electric Lady Studios) with a really awesome engineer named Steve. In addition to singing for The Cringe, he plays drums and keyboards in three other side projects with Matt.

The Rock: Valeze (special industry short set) (11 sharp!)
From Brooklyn-NY, Valeze doesn't wait for the after-party to get down! Described by The Village Voice as "Dance-punk revivalists with a sassy female lead" and Womanrock as "theatrical and pretty damn sexy"! Come enjoy a short Bon Voyage set before they leave for their West Coast tour! Also, check out www.valeze.net and their hot new Music Video "Search and Destroy" which will be featured on Blender.com the week of 3/14!
The Rock: Morning Theft (11:00 pm)
.Morning Theft. mixes the best elements of brooding, moody alternative and indie rock into a unique sonic blend. The combination of their diverse musical influences results in a unique sound with roots in bands like Pixies, Radiohead, The Cure, Nirvana, U2, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, Coldplay, and Sunny Day Real Estate. The band is set to release its new CD "The News Says It's Raining In New York" and will embark on a two-week tour through the southern and mid-western states in March. Their high-intensity, energetic live show is not to be missed.
The Rock: Snowden (from Atlanta) (11:45 pm)
Though the music originated from a quiet bedroom in Athens GA where Jeffares finished up school, the reach of the band and their performances far exceeds the humble origin. Picking up steam in only a year and a half in existence this post punk quartet was called the best new local act of 2004 in Atlanta's Creative Loafing. Lush reverbed guitars and dancey rhythms follow their fifth trip to NYC and the buzz keeps growing.
The Rock: Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah (12:30 pm)
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are all over town gaining new fans, their popularity reaching new heights ... Fans foam at the mouth for this band. These guys are a NYC band that sounds a whole lot like The Talking Heads, albeit a tad sunnier and a tad less spazzy. Their name is appropriate since their bouncy melodic rhythms definitely make you want to clap (although the "yeah" part I'm not so sure about... more like "Byrne!"). They're instantly appealing and completely accessible, so there's really no reason NOT to like this band (unless you think Merzbow is a creative genius... if so, then this band probably is not for you.)
- Oh My Rockness (http://www.ohmyrockness.com/BandBio.cfm?BandID=1489)

That's right, you and the partners of your choice can get an entire bottle of Triple 8 Vodka (otherwise known as 'liquid fun') for yourselves for a hundy. We do not recommend drinking this one alone, but hey, we're not your Mom.
We'll have our 1 HOUR open bar, drink specials, and other surprises.... and we can party as late as we want, so bring your dancing shoes and stay late...
