The Rock: Spitting Cobras (9:00 pm)
Spitting Cobras do on stage with three people what bands with 14 members simply can not accomplish. Their wall of sound, good time rock and roll, and energetic stage presence can get even the most jaded of audiences moving. The band has been playing around the country for a few years spreading their rock gospel, and are coming through this time with a new look and some new tunes. While other acts look pretty and put on a set as saccharine as their outfits, Spitting Cobras check the bullshit at the door and simply rock out like the world is ending tomorrow. Every set is one not to be missed.

The Rock: In.Spite.Of (10:30 pm)
The newest addition to New Jersey’s hotbed of music (Thursday, Saves the day, Borialis, Rye Coalition, etc.). In.spite.of is a band with a familiar yet uniquely identifiable sound, which separates them from the sea of young new talent. Fronted by two singers, in.spite.of is a vocally driven Central Jersey band that breathes new life into, what is considered by most, a stifled period in Alternative rock, a true diamond in the rough.Having put together a strong diverse musical style and a strong fan base, the band has caught the ears of some National touring acts and have shared the stage with the likes of Incubus, System of a down, Godsmack, Alien ant farm, Injected, and 2 Skinee J’s, to name a few.In.spite.of has also been able to draw the attention of, record with, and forge a relationship with, producer, Sal Villanueva whose credits include: Thursday’s “War all the time”, “Full Collapse”, “Waiting” and Taking Back Sunday’s “Tell All Your Friends”, to continue to collaborate on some forthcoming recordings.In.spite.of is managed by Nick John and Rick Sales of Sanctuary Artist Management – Los Angeles division. In.spite.of joins one of the best rosters in the industry alongside bands such as Janes Addiction , Slayer, Alien Ant Farm, Something Corporate, Cave-in, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Destiny’s Child, among many others.

The Rock: the Unlovables (12 midnight)
You say there are no good pop-punk bands? Suck it, Sam! The Unlovables play pop-punk the way Scott Rolen plays third base: unfuckingbelievably well! Every song on this album is insanely catchy, super-peppy, and sweet as a Slurpee. [the Unlovables] crank it with relentless joie de vivre, firing out sugary, energetic, feelgood pop-punk that hits the spot like a cold sip of Coca-Cola on a sweltering August day. Propelled by Christian Stefos’s tasty guitar leads, Hallie’s chunky bass lines, and Mikey Erg’s frenzied drumming, the band’s punchy attack wraps plenty of crunch around these songs’ soft, chewy middle. And once you throw in those gooey, heaven-sent, piled-high harmonies...Forget about it! This is pop bliss personified, brother: hooks galore, melodies extraordinaire, crisp production, and harmonies TO DIE FOR!!! I could listen to this album 15 times in a row; and tonight, I just might." -Josh Rutledge, Now Wave Zine

![]() | ![]() | The Rock: Frequency Needs a Mate (from Boston) (9 pm)
Frequency Needs a Mate plays high energy music without abiding by constrictive expectations or staying within the boundaries of what has already been done. Their main objective is to create something different, something worthwhile. They have a collective I.Q. of 768. They had their collective tonsils removed. They have a collective heart problem. They are a team of professional liars and they have studied under such greats as Hannman Ockensteim, Labby Lochnart, Grigoy Ustunberg, and one of the best in the business, Jaquit Latasious. |

The Couriers deliver a unique blend of modern indie rock hooks brimming with math-rock and post-punk sensibilities. Picture the colorful pop fury of the Kinks meets the driving street sense of Fugazi. Melodic rock and roll combining syncopated rhythms and strong pop knowledge. Hailing from NYC and Jersey, they have been known to pack a room in various Lower East Side dives full of screaming fans old and new. The Couriers are the best of what rock was and is becoming... |

![]() | ![]() | The Rock: Violator (all-girl Depeche Mode covers) (9 pm)
"Violator is an all-girl Depeche Mode cover band; take that, Dave Gahan." -Time Out New York What better way to start the new year then to look back? (Um... don't answer that.) The girls of Violator are a guilty pleasure, fresh off a tour of Italy that included a 2,000 person show (they REALLY like Depeche Mode). Every song is familiar; in fact, you'll probably be compelled to bombard the DJ with 80's requests after the dance down memory lane... Or as the girls say: "Violator is a five member, all woman Depeche Mode cover band based in New York City. We enjoy things like Depeche Mode, New York City, and cover bands." Of Course. |

![]() | ![]() | The Rock: the GoStation (10:30 pm)
Grounded in the slick streets and liquor-fueled venues of NYC, the GoStation consistently twists rock and pop conventions into bright new forms, echoing sonic sentiments that stretch from mid-'90s Manchester to modern-day Manhattan. Since its 2003 inception, the band has played consistently around its native metropolis, bringing its music and its universal message to the people - proving in the live setting that a melody or a beat is no more tied to its place of origin than the mind that envisions it. |

![]() | ![]() | The Rock: Transit Belle (11:15 pm)
Taking their name from WWII U.S. Air Force bomber, Transit Belle formed in 2002 in New York City. Like a Zeppelin-meets-Fugazi brush fire, Transit Belle weaves big hooks and ferocious beats into pure sonic heaven. Their self-titled debut EP is the result of their 2003 collaboration with legendary engineer Steve Albini. With Albini’s ability to harness the same big sound of their live shows, the EP highlights the best of those sessions. In January 2005 the band will release their second EP, Dead on A Vine, on Chinsmen Records. |
