The Rock: Pure Dream Ladder (9 pm)
Formed in New York City, in the year of 2001, Pure Dream Ladder has
been making a name for themselves recently on the national and
international stage, although regulars of the New York City rock
club circuit have known of them for sometime. The band has built a
strong local following by playing highly emotional and powerful
shows at all of the top clubs in the North East. They have been
featured in HITS Magazine along with numerous other New York City
and North East regional newspapers and magazines. They have been
likened by some critics to, “..Travis, The Doves, Coldplay and The
Foo Fighters to name a few, notwithstanding the occasional
Spiritualized nod…” Trying to describe their style isn't easy,
because their sound is very much their own. PDL’s music is produced
by the band along with rock-soundscaper Bryce Goggin (Pavement /
Spacehog / Evan Dando/ The Ramones) Pure Dream Ladder's first EP was
released in August of 2003 and has sold over 4,000 copies worldwide.
The band has been playing overseas for the first part of the year
and this show will mark their first US appearance for 2004!!!

The Rock: the New Years (9:45 pm)
The New Years have been planning on releasing this record for quite
some time. As they relate, "On another front we are still recording
and its going on pretty well. I figure at this rate we should have
something out the middle of 2021 which from what I hear will be a
great year for music...."

Well, lucky for us they finished early. Come help the New Years
celebrate their release with a bash and their first concert in quite
a while....

If there is Rock'n Roll The New Years will come to crash your party.
Addicted to catchy noises and sloppy melodies, The New Year's have
been described as "The Cure vs Guns and Roses". If you are a fan of
"CBGB's punk days" and "intoxicated Manchester DJ's", The New Years
probably have something in common with you. The New Years upcoming
LP "Sex then Breakfast" is a brief explanation of what they learned
playing in New York City. To some it might not sound so appealing
but a lot people have bad taste anyway. It is time to "Reach Out
Your Hands and Get Some". It is time for "The New Years".

The Rock: The Army or Whatever (10:30 pm)
The Army or Whatever dazzled the last time they played Plaid. Now
the band returns with this message...

I used to be human. What a world. How stupid. Long ago… this place
was a beautiful field of flowers. Then those nuclear bombs, those
missiles turned it into this desert. Now…because of all that
fallout… strange flowers grow. Dandelions. Monster dandelions. This
is a rose. The stem grows from the flower and a strange bud at the
top. This is all radiation polluted. It makes this mutation. The
flowers are crippled. Not only flowers. Human beings, too. Look at
me. Stupid mankind did this. It made our planet a junkyard for
poisonous wastes. Nature has vanished from the earth. The nature we
used to enjoy. We’ve lost the birds, animals, fish. Some time ago I
saw a two faced hare, a one-eyed bird, and a hairy fish. There’s no
food. We feed on ourselves. The weak ones go first. It’s about my
turn now. Even here, we have grades. One horned demons like myself
always get eaten by those who have two or three horns. Before, they
were powerful and pretentious. And now they still throw their weight
around as demons. So let them have their way. Let them have all
those horns. Let them live in torture looking the way they do. It’s
hell. Worse than death. They can’t die even if they want to.

The Rock: Duke (11:15 pm)DUKE is dance, fashion, and full of moxie. DUKE is Johnny and
Nathan.

In the Manhattan Autumn of 1998, on crisscrossing nightlife paths,
the Brooklyn duo met. Johnny was acting in film/t.v., fashion
styling for top tier campaigns, and acting up. Nathan was mounting
his second play, delving in stand-up comedy, and imagining the next
thing.

Cut to Summer of 2001, when both had a vision for the future of NYC
entertainment and decided to start singing. Out came electronic pop
group DUKE. The music is based in a classic pop structure, with
catchy melodies, dark beats, and a touch of European flair served
with witty attitude. DUKE is Pop for the Millenium.

Between (a Rock and a Hard Place) is New York Underbelly's live rock
